In term 3 my class got into groups and created a rap based on the person we had created. We had to create a box with a diary, passport, ticket. e.t.c. We also had to make up our own rap about the person and we had to perform in fornt of the class. My partners were Matt09 and Azza11 and we had lots of fun, our persons name that we made up was Carlos Fernandez from Argentina.

His name is Carlos Fernandez                                                                                               He was born in Salta Argentina.                                                                                         He sailed across the great seas.                                                                                           To come for one of the Australian population schemes.                                          To pursue his carpenting career.                                                                                      For many super great years.                                                                                                To chase his huge feeling.                                                                                                      To become someone whos leading.

He couldn’t really understand the english language.                                               But when he went to classes he picked it up quickly.                                             That meant he could get his Australian Citizenship.                                                  So he didn’t have to go back on that dreadful ship.                                                 And got ready for his 1st job in the northern suburbs of Adelaide.                    He started carving his way with a spade.

This is the second book of the Cerub series and it is about a boy called James Adams whos mum dies and dad ends up in jail.  He gets taken to a home with another kid called Kyle and he is picked up by Cherub,  who are a Kid spy organisation . The kids that are picked to join Cherub go on missions and stop illegal and bad things from happening aroun the world.But to be able to do missions they must pass training which makes them able to do missions. In this sequel James, Kyle, Kerry and Nicole go on a mission to stop the Moore family from selling illegal drugs and smuggling them.  The 4 cherub kids go to the same school as the children and they make friends with them to get information about this. Meanwhile  at the same time James and the others report everything that Keith and the 4 children tell them  to the British intelligence and police.Hopefully for the kids Keith Moore (Father) gets arrested and gets put to jail.But in order to do this they  make fake identities and do things which wouldn’t make the family suspicious.

I totally recommend this series to anyone that loves books about spies.In each book James and his friends go on different missions and enjoy their life at Cherub. Find out what James and his friends are up to in their mission in this brilliant sequel to Book 1 The Recruit.

This is part of my highflyer criteria is  researching a famous person from Adelaide. Here is mine.

Lleyton Hewitt was born on the 24th of February 1981 he is a proffesional tennis player from Adelaide. He weighs 77 kg and is 181 cm tall.  Hewitt is currently ranked no. 42 in the world and was the youngest male tennis player ever to become the number 1 player in the world in 2001. He has won 2 Grand Slams Wimbledon and Us Open in 2001 and 2002.  His coach is currently Tony Roche who previously was the coach of Roger Federer. Lleyton also made the Australian Open final with a big crowd behind him at Rod Laver Arena but unfortunately he lost. Lleyton Hewitt is married to Bec Cartright. He has had 2 children named Mia and Cruz. He is hated and loved by some people due to some characteristics on the court.  He is now currently living in Sydney New South Wales. He has been carrying an injury which has bought his rankings down. But when he is fully fit he is a great player to watch. Lleyton was also part of the Australian  Davis Cup team who won in 2003 and 1999. He is the youngest Australian to have recorded more wins than any other Australian player. Lleyton has also won a doubles crown at the Us Open in 2000 with Max Mirnyi which is his only major Grand Slam doubles crown. Hopefully you have learnt quite a bit about Lleyton Hewitt.

The High Flyers this term have started and students are starting to collate evidence of these 5 qualities. The Qualities are: Are Able To Solve Problems Cooperatively And Independently, Are Resilient And Able To Embrace Change, Communicate Effectively And Have A Critical Appreciation Of Literature, Are Understanding And Considerate Of People Different To Themselves and Have A Knowledge Of The Place In Which They Live, And Other Communities Around The World. In our Homework Grid we have to discuss it with our parents and what we are planning to do. I have a good Idea what evidence I will be showing. Hopefully I can get my 3rd High Flyer!!!!!

Impressionistic art uses colour, line and shape to express the arts thoughts feelings and Ideas.

My art piece is called Colour Blob because it has lots of blobs on it and they are colourful, I did this because I wanted to do a piece that was unusual and abstract. I enjoyed doing it because It was fun exploring with the colours.

The colours I used were Light Blue and Pink. I chose these colours because I thought they looked effective and colourful together. The theory to this is that exploring colours can work well together.

On the 4th August my class went to the Migration Museum for our Inquiry Unit Why Is The World Coming To Adelaide?. We took public transport to the museum and we then started on the activity. We got split into 5 groups and each group got a suitcase and in that suitcase were Photos and documents. Our task was to look through the documents and find information about a particular person. There were 3 leadership roles Scribe, Curator and Explorer. The curator and Explorer wrote down information about the person and how they migrated and why to Australia. The scribe had to link the information together to create a little story about the person. Each group then had to one by one come up and tell there persons story. After a group did that we watched a video about that person and how he migrted and why. I learned lots of information on this excursion. Some of things I learnt were that people migrate to Australia because of povery and war in there country. People also migrated for a better education and for jobs that were’nt available in their country. Something else that I had no idea about was that there was a White Policy which started in 1901 which meant that only white people were allowed in Australia which were only the Europeans. But in 1970 everyone could come to Australia from all around the world. This excursion was really fun and I learnt alot.

This term my class are going to do something called a Personal Research Project. We pick the topic ourselves and we have simple steps to starting our presentation. When we finish them we will all be presenting ours at week 9 or 10. Because i have already done two personal Research Projects which have been on Tigers and The Fifa World Cup I would like to do something other than Sport or Animals. So I am going to do mine on a country, i am not sure yet but i will either do Spain, Brazil or Malaysia but i am leaning more towards Spain.  I will be doing it on Powerpoint because it is the program that I can create a SPECTACULAR presentation on. I cannot wait to start. If anybody finds any good sites can you please tell me about them by commenting back.

It is the start of term 3 and on the 1st week my class have swimming lessons at Thebarton Aquatic Centre. On the 1st day we had to do some simple freestyle to test our abillity. We then got put into groups by our swimming abilities. I got put in the Top class which was good plus i am a pretty confident swimmer. The 1st session we had was just swimming 50 m we did Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke, Butterfly, Sidestroke, Dolphin, Side Dolphin, dolphin on our backs and a few more. Today we did snorkelling and some survival and saving others. we also did treading water for 5 minutes which was tiring. I cannot wait for what is installed for us for the rest of the week!!!!!!!!!!!

On the 23rd of June the Power Community Group came to talk to us about tobacco and how it affects everyone. The speakers were Mo’onia Gerrard, Wade Thompson, Matt Thomas and Jonathon Giles. They talked to us about the illnesses that you can get if you smoke tobacco. We also found out about the chemicals used in smoking ad what they are also used in. We also had to answer some questions about it. At the end they gave us their autographs. It was a great learning experience. What i got out of this talk was not to smoke in the future because it causes damage to your body.

Every Saturday Morning I play tennis for Flinders Park Tennis Club.  Im in the same Tennis team as Twinkletoes7 and we are in Division 2 out of 7 Divisions, the highest being Div 1. We are currently in the Winter season of Tennis. We are coming 5th out 8 teams. We have won 3 matches out of 7. To get into the finals you need to finish in the top 4. I am the Number 2 player in my team with Twinkletoes being the 3rd player. I am very happy about my results in tennis.
